As some of you may already know, it is National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day! I don’t want you all to think I am selfish, so I will give up my time with my human so the felines of the world may have their moment with him. Have I mentioned that I think he is the best vet ever? This is a huge sacrifice for me and an opportunity that only comes along once in a great while! I love going to work with my human and I take my job very seriously! For tomorrow, though, I will take the day off, so the cats do not feel threatened by my presence at the office. Did you know that cats do not go to the vet nearly as often as they should? According to VPI (Veterinary Pet Insurance) many of the top reasons that cats see the vet can actually be prevented with proper testing and veterinary care. I know I am a dog, and dogs aren’t supposed to be fond of cats, but I will let you in on a little secret…I like my cat friends, and I would like them to live long, healthy lives. Shhhhh….don’t tell anyone! I don’t want my dog friends to think less of me! But I digress. The fact is, taking your cat to the vet, and having the vet administer the proper vaccinations for their lifestyle, and run the proper tests for their age can not only keep them from getting certain diseases, but can also actually catch other problems before they show up with symptoms. By then, it could be too late to reverse the damage! So do your cat a favor, and don’t just make that appointment…follow through and have the testing done! I am going to go now. I have some bird watching and fishing to do on my day off!
